What We Offer



Lending Materials
In addition to books, the Hinsdale Public Library also lends videos, audio books, puzzles, DVDs,magazines and music.

Borrowing
All materials have a loan period of two weeks. You may renew if no one is waiting for your item, unless your item is an Inter Library Loan. There is no limit on the number of materials you may check out each visit, except for videos which are a maximum of ten. You may return materials in person, in our book drop in front of the library, or phone us to renew. Items in circulation may be reserved at the front desk. Items not in circulation may be borrowed from other libraries by requesting an Inter Library Loan.

Library Cards
The Hinsdale Public Library issues borrowing cards to any resident of Massachusetts free of charge.

Teacher/Scholar Privileges
Teachers and scholars may borrow reference materials and long-term loans of up to 30 items for classroom use or research.

Privacy
Patron borrowing records are considered confidential. Parents are notified when children have overdue materials.

Local History/Local Interest
The Hinsdale Public Library maintains a local history section, where you will find geneological information, maps, books and photos of Hinsdale and the Berkshire Region.
